Community Programs

The Berkshire Outdoor Center is continuing to build relationships in the community. Here are some of our most exciting community initiatives that we participate in.

  • Berkshire Schools Staff Development Day Retreat Program
    As part of our commitment to our community, we are offering full day staff retreats for all schools located in Berkshire County, free of charge. We believe that holding staff retreats in our magnificent Dining Hall and Arts Center will encourage local schools to become more involved with us, and will provide us with the opportunity to share our magnificent facilities with our community.   • International (J-1) Trainee Community Outreach Program
    The traineeship is intended to provide the trainee with a variety of experiences in the field of Outdoor Education such that he or she may develop skill, understanding and passion for working with children, youth and adults in the outdoor setting. The further purpose of this training is to provide the trainee with the skills and experience of running an entire outdoor education and leadership development program. (more)
  • Internship Program for US Citizens and US Residents
    The internship is intended to provide the intern with a variety of experiences in the field of Outdoor Education such that he or she may develop skill, understanding and passion for working with children, youth and adults in the outdoor setting. Specifically, the internship is designed to provide the intern with skills and experience in working with children, youth and adults in group facilitation and leadership development. (more)
  • Capeless Elementary School After-School Program
    Berkshire Outdoor Center runs an after-school program at Capeless Elementary School every Wednesday afternoon. The kids get to play some really cool camp games and get to meet our staff who are from all over the world, every week. (more)
