Corporate Retreats |
|
Sometimes a new setting is all it takes - and to get out of the city, away from the comforts of home, corporate groups can spend time teambuilding and learning leadership skills that would be very advantageous in the workplace! Rustic accommodation works best for this, but if that's not for you, try our local bed-&-breakfast/hotel options for the overnight stay.
Overarching Philosophy
Corporate Retreats typically include some workshops of your own, combined with activities run by our excellent staff. The activities that we run for you typically involve searching for outside-of-the-box solutions to challenging problems. Our emphasis is on developing the skills of leadership - effective communication, sharing ideas, working together, reliance on one

another, even teaching people to ask each others for assistance (you would be surprised how many people try and do everything on their own!). Getting out of the workplace - into the basic elements of the outdoors, where participants can focus on one another and the relationships between one another - is powerful.
Our focus is leadership development. From our Leadership Development Definitions: Typically, leadership development involves complex teambuilding tasks, utilizing ground initiatives and ropes courses. Scenarios utilizing these initiatives and ropes courses are modified depending on the ability of the group and the age of the participants. Typically, the teambuilding initiatives and low ropes courses initiatives focus on interpersonal skills - using tasks that require effective communication, sharing, discussion and organization. The high ropes courses initiatives primarily focus on building intrapersonal skills - self-confidence, self-esteem, strength within, self-trust and safe risk-taking. Usually, groups using high ropes courses initiatives find that peer-support and encouragement of one another are some positive side-benefits. |
