November 9-11, 2007: Work Weekend Fall 2007 was a major success! It was one of the largest work weekends with have ever had, with more than 140 attendees. Work projects ranged from rebuilding a section of the Chimney waterfront fence, rebuilding floating docks for Camp Becket, raking a lot of leaves, adding 16 pick-up trucks worth of woodchips to our Chimney Low Ropes course, building benches for various spots around camp, building firewood storage boxes, building a deck for our ropes equipment at the high ropes course, and tons of other neat stuff!

Approximately 140 people did around 7.5 hours each, contributing more than 1,000 hours of work to our organization, saving the institution up to $20,000 in labor costs!. The campers, other participants, staff and trustees truly appreciate this generous effort by such a wonderful group of people and would like to thank everyone who participated in Work Weekend Fall 2007.
Here's some more of our work projects completed.
- The firewood and sauna-wood team split almost 6 cords of firewood and countless pieces of wood for the sauna.
- The fence team finished the corral and repaired the fences that needed repair. They also assembled a skating rink for the outdoor center’s winter activities.
- The brush clearing team exposed two substantial stone walls behind the Chimney Corner’s Art Center and cleared a great deal of material at the Smith Pond Dam; then they raked leaves at the amphitheater.
- One construction team built two platforms to protect outdoor center equipment from the elements. They also built and stained 4 substantial shelters for camper firewood.
- A team spent Saturday scraping old vinyl tiles from the first floor of the Becket Art Center leaving a spotless space ready for new tiles to be installed.
- The roofing team stripped and re-roofed the Wharton Cabin.
- A second construction team built three new floating docks for the Day Camp and Camp Becket.
