The wall behind the stage is being constructed. Toilets and sinks are being installed. Window frames are being finished. Tiles are laid in the office foyer and the camp store. Tiles are laid in the bathrooms.

Building is weather-tight.

No exaggeration - there must have been a hundred people working down at the construction site today. People were painting, welding, installing dry wall, installing windows, insulation, roofing, fire suppression, the list goes on...

This place changes every single day. You would be amazed - just look at the pictures.

One dormer in the roof is almost complete. Lights in the main dining room are being installed. Dry wall continues to go into the building. Windows are still being installed. Internal building doors have been painted and will be installed soon. Camp Director and Program Director office windows have been trimmed. Camp Store is being completed.

Certain not to be overlooked is the fire suppression system that is being installed throughout the building. It is important to note that the guys installing this have been onsite since very early on, and it is a big project. The fire suppression system is designed not to be noticed, but to be effective in managing fire outbreaks. The system is complex and involves getting a lot of water to all parts of the building quickly. This is a major component of this construction site.

Refrigeration and freezer units are being custom built inside the kitchen. Painting continues throughout the building. Bathroom floors are being tiled. Fireplaces are nearing completion. Roofing work continues. LOTS of drywall installation happening throughout the building, particularly in the side break-out rooms.

The ceiling is going in the main office area and bathrooms, as well as the kitchen. The walls are being painted their final colors. Window trim is being fitted. The underground chamber for the fire suppression system is being installed.

The loading dock door has been installed. The panels are going on the main roof. The sheet-rock continues inside the building. The hoods for the ovens have been installed. Landscaping work is being carried out between the Dining Hall and the Archery Range. Painters continue to paint the outside of the building, second coat being applied to the back side of the building today. The roof keeps going on, more quickly now that it is down to an artform.

Tiles are being laid, the painting of the outside of the building has commenced. The painting inside the kitchen has finished. The bathrooms are tiled. The office areas are being painted. The roof is going on the main dining room. The ceiling has been done in one of the bathrooms and one of the storage rooms. The climbing tower floor will be poured on Thursday. The stairs will be poured on Thursday. The insulation has been sprayed into the basement ceiling.

The roof panels are going onto the side room today. Each panel consists of three parts: a plywood sheet, the insulation for the roof, and the acoustic control material that effectively makes up the ceiling of the dining hall. The main stonework on the fireplaces is being finished on the insides, and framing continues for sheet-rocking. Final coats of paint will be applied to the kitchen this weekend.

Snow the last few days has not slowed Allegrone's progress at the Dining Hall site. Work has continued smoothly, and the first panels of insulation, sound-proofing and roof surface was placed in the Arts Center corner of the Dining Hall this morning. Workers are also tiling the floor of the main bathrooms, and painters are painting the kitchen and dishroom walls. Hoods have gone in over the main cooking facilities in the kitchen, and work is progressing well.

The Board of Trustees inspected the progress of the new Dining Hall today, following the April Board Meeting. The most commonly heard expression during the tour of the new Dining Hall was "Wow!" All the trusses are in place, painting has commenced in the offices and bathrooms. And work will now begin on placing the roof on top of the main Dining Room.
