Bikes Not Bombs is also a non-profit organization that working in communities and promoting alternative transportation. They run a bike recycling program and works a lot with youth and teens in Roxbury, MA.

Sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration this site has a ton of historical and statistical data on bicycle safety in the U.S.. Included is their recommendations on safe practices
This online version of Bicycling Magazine features articles ranging from training techniques, fix-it tips and bike culture. Besides the commercial aspect of this site it's a good place to check out details on the sport.
Another organization that we partner with is the Nature Conservancy in New York. At this site you can read about the many projects they work on year round.
The Center for Outdoor Ethics has compiled 7 principles that teach people how to be responsible outdoors. While TLS participants are not doing a serious backcountry trip they will be camping out along the way and should follow the best practices. Take a look and become familiar with the principles before you arrive at camp.
