Dates and Rates

February 19th - 25th, 2012

Winter Camp runs from 3:00pm Sunday, February 19th, 2012 to 10:00am-12:00pm Saturday, February 26th, 2012.

Winter Camp 2012 tuition is $548 per person.

Winter Camp Leaders-In-Training tuition is $275 per person.

New for 2012! Referral discount!  Returning Winter Campers refer a new Winter Camper who registers before Feb 1st, 2012 and receive $50 off! If you are new to Winter Camper, tell us which Winter Camper referred you and receive $50 off! Only 1 discount per camper.

This price includes all accommodation, meals and snacks, equipment usage for activities (Cross country skis, boots, poles, snowshoes, ice skates, tubing hill, etc).

The only costs not included in tuition are the optional Ski/ Snowboard Day Trip to Butternut Ski Area in Great Barrington for $115 and any store purchases or associated spending money.

Accommodation

Winter Campers will stay in our winterized lodges at Chimney Corners Camp. These may include the Manor, the Ina Gibson Lodge, Four Seasons and Wellspring Lodge. Activities will take place at both Camp Becket and Chimney Corners Camp.

We have winterized accommodation for up to 165 throughout the season, although we will cap Winter Camp enrollment at a number much lower than that!

Staff

Our Winter Camp staff are experienced staff members at the Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA, and are all well-trained to teach the different Winter Activities we offer. Our staff are carefully selected based on past performance with campers in our summer, fall and spring programs. Best of all, these staff know how to have fun. Our activities are instructional, but the staff teach in a fantastic, fun and crazy (but safe) way!

Winter Camp is staff very similarly to our summer camps. Each cabin group will have a counselor and an assistant counselor that will spend the majority of the day and all evening with the cabin group. We also have a program staff member to organize the program, a nurse to care for all us, and a leadership staff member to give direct supervision and guidance to our LITs and Assistant Counselors.

Boys and Girls will be housed in different buildings, and grouped according to age. Each group will have their own counselor, present throughout the day, and throughout the evening, just like summer camp! Rooms range in size from 4 to 14, depending on the lodge.
