Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA has managed to keep pace with the increasing demands of running a 1,400 acre facility with over 140 buildings. The successful $4 million capital campaign that wrapped up in 2004 was testament to our ability to instill a new culture of giving among our alumni and families. Yet, the long term prognosis is still sobering.
Did you know that there is over $5,000,000 in capital needs and only 2.5% of the camps $7 million budget can be devoted to capital needs each year? There is an enormous gap between our short term capital project needs and our ability to pay for them.
Raising camper tuition is not sustainable and will not raise the necessary resources. The sheer size and scale of our long-term financial challenges compels us to take a more strategic approach to fundraising through a major gift program that directs donors to our capital priorities.
