Camp Becket > Programs > Specialty Programs
This program offers new opportunities for campers who have completed the 8th or 9th grade. Supervised by a foreman, the groups build a new building each summer. Achievement accompanies instruction in the use of hand and power tools, construction mathematics, and basic carpentry skills. Boys spend about 2 hours each day on the project and the rest in regular camp activities. Participants must bring work boots, a hammer, tape measure, and a tool belt; hard hats and safety glasses are provided by camp. Qualified applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Boys (who have completed 8th or 9th grade) are eligible for the Adventure Odyssey Cabin. This specialty cabin allows campers to experience the best adventures in New England. Campers will participate in regular camp programs but also go on day and multi-day excursions which may include backpacking trips, canoe trips, sea kayaking, rafting, and climbing on natural rock faces. This program teaches "Leave No Trace" wilderness ethics while building group dynamics and leadership skills. Since this cabin is challenging, participants must be in good physical shape. Qualified applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
